Tutor Liza takes us on an Oriental Journey today to Korea. Liza hails from Malaysia and has many years’ experience of creating dishes from across the far east, from Vietnam to Japan, Korea to Malaysia and China. Over this Oriental Journey series of classes Liza is also teaching dishes from Malaysia, Japan and Vietnam.
Today’s dish is bibimbap, a popular mixed rice, meat and vegetable dish from Korea which is sometimes served with raw or fried egg. Liza will teach you to create this dish with its fabulous flavours. At the end of the class you can either tuck in to your bibimbap here or take it home to share.
We will also make kimchi, a fermented cabbage condiment that is increasing well-known in the west and popular for its powerful flavour and for its health benefits.
This is a relaxed, friendly afternoon’s cooking, filled with information, skills and hands-on cooking.
Please arrive by 1.50pm, and bring a suitable container if you wish to take your dish home rather than eating it here.
