This is an opportunity for children aged 8 to 14 to spend three days with us learning to cook a lovely variety of dishes with a wide range of cooking skills. They will have fun and learn fantastic cooking skills for life. And we’ll gently encourage the cautious ones to try new dishes and flavours!
Each day we will make one or more dishes in the morning to have for lunch, followed by a dish to take home at the end of the day. Dishes can be adjusted for dietary needs or preferences but please let us know in advance if that is the case. We will break up the day with times to relax and walks to the beach.
Day 1: Crispy ginger and chilli pork fried rice; strawberry jam ripple ice cream; summer fruit shortcrust pie
Day 2: Wholemeal bread rolls; honey glazed chicken wings; summer slaw; lemon loaf
Day 3: Rainbow ricepaper rolls fulled with a choice of vegetables, mango & chicken or prawns; sesame dipping sauce; chocolate loaf
This summer cooking school will suit children who already have an interest in cooking and want to take it further. They do not need to have extensive experience or already feel confident in their cooking skills – we will guide and support them all the way so that they can enjoy the experience and absorb the many skills they will practise. This will be for a small group of 8 children.
