At this time of abundance our thoughts turn to preserving and pickling. So this morning we will learn several techniques to preserve ingredients and create delicious condiments for short term and longer term preserving.
Pieter will teach the fundamentals of preserving including preparing containers, sterilising and ensuring products remain protected. Of course you will take home all your preserves and pickles. We will make:
- Preserved lemons
- Lemon curd
- Tomato and onion seed chutney
- Bread and butter pickles – a traditional English pickle with cucumber
All ingredients and containers are supplied. Please arrive by 9.50am, bring bags to take home your pickles and preserves and wear comfortable shoes.
