Chef-Tutor Liza takes us on an Oriental Journey today two dishes from Vietnam. Liza hails from Malaysia and has many years’ experience of creating dishes from across the far east, from Vietnam to Japan, Korea to Malaysia and China. Over the next few weeks Liza is also teaching dishes from Korea, Malaysia and Japan.
Today’s first dish is a Vietnamese beef noodle soup, pho bo. A warming dish, it is perfect for this time of year. Liza will teach you about Vietnamese cuisine, and the ingredients and flavours that typify Vietnamese cooking. You will make the pho bo and can choose to enjoy it here at the end of the class or take it home to share.
For our second dish today we will look ahead to warmer weather with Vietnamese prawn summer rolls. These light rice paper rolls are packed with shellfish, vermicelli noodles, carrots, cucumber and herbs. Delicious!
This is a relaxed, friendly morning’s cooking, filled with information, skills and hands-on cooking.
Please arrive by 9.50am, and bring two suitable containers to take your dishes home.
