Families can enjoy making and baking together this morning. As well as bread you will make a delicious salsa verde to dip it in. Why not bring some cheese or ham and at the end of the morning you will have a wonderful picnic lunch to take to the beach, just three minutes’ walk away!
Fougasse is Provencal flat bread made with dough enriched with oil, herbs, olives or other great tasting ingredients. It is either baked as flat, round or oval beads or more often as a spade or leaf shape, or to resemble an ear of wheat, with bold cuts all the way through making a “holey” flatbread. Like pizza in Italy, fougasse was traditionally used to test the temperature of a wood fired oven, so it is generally baked on the deck of the oven.
This workshop is for family groups of up to four people – with at least one adult or older child who can support younger ones. If you want children to get more involved we would suggest booking a separate place for each two family members or friends. (Give us a call if you’re not sure how many places to book!)
Please arrive by 10.20am, bring strong paper or hessian bags to take home your bread and a small airtight container for the salsa verde. Please wear comfortable shoes.
